Christ the King is a Catholic High School under the proprietorship of His Grace, the Archbishop of Maseru. It is dedicated to the Christian education of boys. In 1939, the high school was started at what was then known as Roma College. That same year, five Brothers of the Sacred Heart left St. Monica’s Mission in Leribe, to help the Oblates at Roma College. Brother Jules, our founder in Lesotho, took charge of the Teacher Training College Department, while the other Brothers helped both in the College and the high school departments. In 1960, the Teacher Training College section of Roma College was transferred to Maseru, to what is now known as St. Joseph High School. Roma College then became Christ the King High School. The reason for the change was mainly that, without the training of teachers, the school was within the Pius XII University College. Christ the King has undergone many changes since then. Each incoming principal brought additional changes. These include the introduction of Technical subjects in 1980 and Computer studies in 1986.
